Metalbilt’s automatic smoke curtains activate automatically in the event of a fire, providing a means of diverting smoke from a desired location or protecting an area from direct smoke infiltration. Each curtain is custom-made for the required space.
Used as a part of an integrated smoke control system, this smoke curtain is essentially a roller blind with a heat resistant fabric. In the event of a fire, an electronic signal allows the curtain to unroll at a controlled rate to a pre-set height, even in a power outage. The curtains are gravity fail safe and individual curtains can be installed adjacent to one another to give a continuous bank of curtains.
Metalbilt’s automatic smoke curtains are ideal for commercial and industrial projects with central atria such as:
Panama weave X32k glass cloth micronised aluminium polymer fabric.
Can withstand hot air and smoke at temperatures up to 1000°C for 60 minutes.
3-hour battery backup.
Head boxes are made from 1.2mm galvanised steel – stainless is optional and is available with a powder-coated finish.
Metalbilt’s smoke curtains meet the requirements of BS EN 12101.1. The manufacturing processes and quality control meet the full requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:1994 certification.
