Metalbilt recently partnered with CentrePort Wellington to replace and install a custom steel roller shutter door, weighing 2 tonnes and measuring 18 metres high by 5.7 metres wide. The door features 1.2mm galvanised slats supplied by LEDA and is powered by a SEW helical bevel gearmotor.
The installation, carried out over a two-week period, was completed in collaboration with Collins Lifting, who assisted with both the removal of the existing structure and the precise installation of the new system.
This upgrade was for the Straddle House Workshop—an essential facility at CentrePort used to service a wide range of critical equipment, including ship-to-shore cranes, container reach stackers, and the port’s vehicle fleet. Its smooth operation is vital to the success of all port activities.
