Project Overview

This project involved designing and installing a unique gate system positioned at the corner of the goods entrance site, adjacent to a tee intersection. This intersection serves both as the goods entrance and as a thoroughfare for customers accessing the carpark, requiring a solution that prioritises safety and efficiency.

The system consists of a bi-parting pair of tracked sliding gates that open together on request and follow a two-step closing cycle. One gate closes first and activates safety devices (Safe Edge), allowing the second gate to close safely. This design prevents any risk of crushing during operation.

Gate frames are clad in board and batten for acoustic performance, reducing noise from loading and unloading delivery vehicles and forklifts. Both gates are motorised with DG800 industrial gate operators, ensuring smooth operation even with the incline of the leading gate.
